... abt a month or six weeks before Michaelmas last past... this exte walkeing in ?Davygate within the city of York and heareing some high words between the arte Mr Thomas & Mr Dewfris, sayes that he then & there heard the said Mr Dewfris call the said Henry Thorpe rogue and rascall severall times, wch sd words he then spoake & repeated in the heareing of this exte & of severall others...who were then walking to & fro in the said street...
